ABOUT NAT
I’m Natalie. I’m 21 and I’m a 4th-year Communication student at SFU (graduating in June 2008.. finally!!) and doing an Extended Minor in Women’s Studies. I don’t know exactly where I’ll end up after I graduate, but that’s part of the excitement.. isn’t it?? Isn’t it?? I’m trying to keep an open mind and stay positive about the future, no matter how hard it can be sometimes.
In general I’m a very sarcastic person, super energetic and borderline over-the-top. I can definitely rub people the wrong way if they haven’t gotten to know me yet. I’m quite outspoken, I have no problem letting you know my opinion on things that matter to me. I’m very political, socially-conscious and aware of the issues that affect me in the world today. I’m a feminist and not afraid to talk about it. I’ve gotten into many a debate about these kinds of issues, and I don’t mind sharing my views in a respectful, open dialogue with others. I like articulate, intelligent discussion.
My hobbies include painting, graphic/web design (although less so since I’ve discovered Wordpress will do it for you, haha) and reading. I read lots of metaphysical stuff, books by psychics and so on. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I could care less what you think of my personal beliefs or the people I choose to idolize. My spirituality is not up for dissection. I also don’t go around preaching to people or trying to get others to convert to my belief system. I don’t see what the use is in doing that. Religion and beliefs are such a personal, intimate thing, I cannot understand how some groups think everyone needs to view the world in the same way. It’s an individual journey to discover what it is you believe and no one has the right to go around evangelizing and threatening Hellfire and brimstone if you don’t accept their views.
